NEWS FROM THE BOARD: As of July 21st, 2006, in accordance with the Arkansas Clean Air Act in all buildings at Rolling Hills Country Club, smoking is to be prohibited. Also smoking is not allowed at the main entrance to the club house. Please do not throw cigarette butts on the ground around the buildings. We will provide a place in smoking areas for them. The Board of Directors has decided to have a special meeting of the membership August 14th at 7:00pm to discuss and explain the financial shape of RHCC. Some topics to be discussed will be as follows: Special Assessment, Dues increase, Value Added Membership, and a couple more items of the club business. The Board wants your input on each topic at the meeting. Also we have several events scheduled in August for the membership. Please come out and support each and enjoy your club.

Our annual Mixed Couples Tournament will be on Saturday, August 5, with registration being at 8:00AM and tee time at 9:00AM. Entry fee is $70.00 per couple; sign-up sheet in pro shop. There will be a 4-Gal Scramble on Saturday, September 9, with registration at 9:00AM and a shotgun start at 10:00AM. Entry fee is $135.00 per team; sign up sheets in the pro shop.
MGA NEWS: The annual Summer Classic 2-Man Scramble will be held on Saturday, August 12, and Sunday, August 13, with tee times of 8:00AM and 1:00PM. Sign up today in the pro shop. We have started work on improvements to the driving range. Anyone wanting to volunteer their time to help with this project may do so during the month of August. Your help would be greatly appreciated. We would like to thank all volunteers and individuals who helped with the Remax and Pinnacle competitions held in July.
PRO SHOP NEWS: The 2nd annual Black River Cup qualifying event is ongoing and anyone wishing to participate will need to play their qualifying rounds during the month of August. Information on this event is posted in the pro shop. We would like to thank the MGA for the recent upgrade on the pro shop computer. This was badly needed and much appreciated. Parents, please remember that children under the age of 14 cannot drive a golf cart without an adult in the cart. An adult is defined as a parent or supervisory person at least 18 years of age. Thank you.
ENTERTAINMENT NEWS:
SATURDAY, AUGUST 26, 2006 Free for Members, $5/Guest Join us for “Cheeseburgers in Paradise” at our next event…Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville Pool Party!! (Adults Only) Party starts at 6:30PM so bring your suit and take a splash to keep cool or just come mingle with the party crowd. (If inclement weather occurs event will be moved inside). There will be a Limbo and Men’s Wet T-Shirt contest that you won’t want to miss! The club will supply the burgers and we ask that you bring an appetizer or dessert to share. The party will be CASH BAR ONLY! Be watching for more information posted in the bar and pro shop as this event gets closer. The entertainment committee and club would like to extend our thanks to those who attended our July event, A Night with the Rat Pack. We had hoped this unique event would draw a larger crowd however we were very disappointed in the turn out. For those of you who did not make it you missed a swinging good time. The food from the Hole-in One restaurant was great and the music was hopping all night long. Once again thank you to all who attended!
