NEWS FROM THE BOARD:  There will be no dues adjustment for July.

 

A sign up sheet is in the pro shop for the annual Men’s Match Play Championship.  This is a handicapped event.  All participants will be playing from the sets of tees from which their handicap was calculated.  If you are playing an opponent from a different set of tees, the player playing the longest tees will increase their handicap by 2 strokes for that match.  This adjustment is described on the bulletin board of the pro shop.  Deadline for signup is 5:00 pm Friday, July 13.  Brackets will be drawn after 5:00 that evening.  Matches may begin on Saturday, July 14, and players are encouraged to move the tournament along without delay.

 

There is also a sign up sheet for the Men’s Stroke Play Championship.  This is a NEW and IMPROVED  event for 2007.  We will hold this tournament on the weekend of August 4 and 5.  This year there will be 5 divisions:  Open, Mid-Senior, Senior, Super Senior, and Net divisions.  We are adding the Mid-Senior and Super Senior Divisions this year to hopefully generate more entrants, to make the tournament more competitive, and to bring our championship in line with ASGA recommendations.  The Open and Mid-Senior divisions will play from the blue tees, the Senior division will play from the white tees, and the Super Senior will play from the gold tees.  Those with handicaps will also be eligible for the Net division.

 

Divisions are as follows:  Open Division – anyone under 40 and all others who declare to

                                          play for the club championship

                                          Mid-Senior Division – golfers 40 and up

                                          Senior Division – golfers 55 and up

                                          Super Senior Division – golfers 65 and up

 

Golfers may elect to play down a division; for example, a Super Senior may play in the Senior division, etc.  A winner and runner-up will be awarded in all five divisions.

 

LGA NEWS:  The LGA would like to thank all our sponsors in our recent 2-gal scramble.  The tournament was a great success because of you.  We appreciate your support.  Our next tournament will be the Mixed Couples on Saturday, August 4.  Please come out and join in the fun.  Scheduled play for the month of July:

MGA NEWS:  The MGA will be hosting their annual Summer Classic 2-Man Scramble on August 11 and 12, with T times at 8:00AM and 1:00PM .  Entry fee will be $130.00 per team or $65.00 per person, mulligans included.  There will be $1.00 course beverages, meal voucher, and live entertainment in the Bar with Chris Lynch and Chris Rose.  Please sign up in the Pro Shop.
